#17 Quick Update…

This is a quick update…It’s so hard to find time to write since Noah.  I’m tired from constant bottle feedings at night, even though hubby and I take turns, and fatigued from chemo.  (I also have chemo in the morning!)

I have included a video of my last chemo session which was last Thursday, August 17th.  I was very sleepy and slept through the entire thing, 4 1/2 hrs–partly due to being a new mom and partly due to the new chemo regimen: Herceptin, Perjeta, and Taxol.

This new chemo is not like the last one.  It will not have bone/muscle pain.  Yay!  That was not so nice.  This one, however, will have more fatigue–boo!–an upset stomach, tingling in the toes and hands, and a more acute blackening of my fingernails and toenails–possibly even make them fall off.  When Dr. S. told me that might happen I immediately responded with, “No, they will not, in the name of Jesus!  My friends and I will pray against that!”  So, if I may ask, please pray that my ten fingernails and ten toenails stay put, no matter how ugly they get!

Second Prayer Request, if I may.  I have a painful injection site bruise that formed two weeks ago when I had my last I.V. needle put in the back of my palm for my mediport surgery.  Since then, two lumps have formed in the vein and they are causing me a great deal of pain.  It is very hard to do anything with the hand and since I have to pick the baby up often, I’m not happy with this small but obnoxious wound.  The oncologist checked it and thankfully it is not infected.  The only remedy is to put hot compresses on the lumps but unfortunately, it has not helped…yet!

The results of my chest, abdomen, and pelvic ct scan came in with great results.  First, the tumor has shrunk.  It was 2.8 centimeters when it was discovered and it is now 1.8 centimeters.   Secondly, the cancer has not spread.  Lastly, it is not in the lymph nodes.  So, this is all great news!

I’ll leave you with this awesome news and a funny thing my 87-year-old grandmother said to my mom yesterday regarding the bath time photos of Noah we sent her in which I placed cute little stars images to cover his pee-wee.  The last photos I sent had an airplane and a robot over his privates.

Grandma:  He’s so beautiful.  But she’s going to give him an infection!

Mom:  An infection?  How?

Grandma:  She’s always sticking stuff on his pee-wee!

True Story!  So funny.

Thank you, Jesus, for the great results.  Thank you for healing me.  Thank you for the prayers of my family and friends, and thank you for my son, Noah, who is the greatest medicine.  Father God, bless those who are praying for me, multiply their blessings, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

In love and Christ,

Liz
