It’s been too long. Forgive me. I had no idea how much time motherhood would take up.
Anyone who is a mom is saying, “You got that right, sister!”
I can’t sit for prolonged periods and type since Noah is up and about from the moment he wakes up and says, “Hi.” Coincidentally, that is his favorite word and he says it all day, everywhere we go. And, yet, I never get tired of hearing it. He says it in the sweetest, softest voice.
Yesterday, however, he learned a new phrase while listening to a baby program called “Squeak”—about three little mice who live in a clock called the “tick-tock”house. At the end, they sing: “Bye, Bye, Bye.” Well, Noah responded at the top of his lungs: “Die, Die, Die!” And he won’t stop repeating it. The letter B is our next assignment.
So, I’m on the express bus returning home from Manhattan going and writing this on my phone—sorry if there are typos and/or grammatical errors.
Unfortunately, I thought I had an appointment today with the plastic surgeon. He’s going to tattoo fake nipples on me to cover up the ugly scars over my nippleless boobies. Turns out that appointment is tomorrow! Hello!
Boy was it fun getting up early to rush out of the house today for an appointment I have tomorrow.
Also fun…finding Noah peed his clothes and picking up shards of glass after he slammed his bottle of milk on the kitchen floor like a Greek at a wedding. OPA!
Also adding to the adventure…hubby’s stiff neck. He can barely turn his head and couldnt provide much help this morning except for vacuuming like Rosie the Robot—in rigid 90 degree turns.
Noah added to the excitement with his cries to let us know he did not like the loud monstrous noise. All while I rushed to put on some makeup and not let the pee or the glass bother me!
So, I finally got into the city and walk from 48th and Madison to 47th and 3rd only to find out I”m 24 hours early for my appointment!
What?! I seriously considered staying till the next day. Instead, I laughed. You know that crazy maniacal laugh that says, “Yay! You mean I get to do this all over again tomorrow morning.” OPA!
And then I walked a bit further to 46th and 5th Ave. to get the bus. It doesn’t sound like much walking unless you know NYC. Then you know the avenues are long, the streets are crowded, there’s one block that goes uphill, and I chose to wear leggings today in 80 degree humidity.
The best part is when I almost missed the bus and sprinted one block to catch it and the bus driver gave me a lecture about never picking me up on the corner again. I was 50 feet from the actual stop “Yes, sir. Thank you, Jesus.” Hope he doesn’t think I thought Jesus was his name. It could have been. How do I know.
So, here is the video I made today, a day early, which you can watch tomorrow if you want to be in real time. I guess today was not a good day to pick pigments for my fake, tattooed areolas—brown or pink?
By the way, Mom had some choice words for me about something being wrong with me and that sort of thing. I mean isn’t obvious that I love coming in to NYC a day early.
Be blessed. Here’s the url for the video if you dont see it below: https://youtu.be/ZtpIrKgDzgk
In love and Christ,
Liz
